I imagine my Divine Inner Source as a fountain, with its pump as the Earth with its rhythms, coming up through my spine, through all the chakras, flowing upwards until it finally reaches my Crown chakra, where it showers me and everything around me with abundance and prosperity. Maintaining the clear path for the flow becomes my life’s work. The flow is Love.

I see it at first as a cooling burning white light within my solar plexus/heart chakras, expanded to fill my whole body. Have you ever thought about the substance of Spirit? Rather an oxymoron, isn’t it? But the whole point is how insubstantial and yet all-powerful an idea, a concept, can be. So the divine within could be this (warning to those who flinch at Christianity – Christ image ahead! Take a deep breath, and keep reading…): imagine a man, standing with his legs close together, his head flung back, facing upwards with an expression of pure joy and happiness radiating from his face, his arms open wide, and his whole body glowing with a white energy. Hold that image for a moment…now picture him and his glow in the heart of a cross, his legs and head forming the vertical and his arms within the cross bars. It looks as though he is radiating from within it. And now picture the cross as having subtle features of its own, a head and legs and arms. The cross is us, and the energy is within everyone.
The above was an early attempt of mine to reconcile the horror of an instrument of torture and death of being a symbol for a religion that tried to teach tolerance and love. I finally came to a kind of realization that the cross is the symbol for the transcendence of love over fear. It is not, for me, about the transcendence of life over death. Death always wins. However, what we make of our lives, and how our light shines out, is a measure of how close the game was. I look to the energy within, the Divine within to help me manifest energy in the outer world, and release it for the greatest good of all.

I see my Crown & Heart chakras opening and receiving Divine Source’s Light and touch. I’m not sure I understand, but I know myself as God/dess, and capable of manifesting everything in my life. Again, “Source” is a water image: remembering the source of the Sacramento River at Mount Shasta bubbling up, and remembering the sense of freedom I had there.
